    Gail A. Linn has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 15 years.  She has a Masters’ Degree in Counseling from Oakland University.  Her specialties include working with couples and relationship issues, marriage counseling,  mood disorders (depression and bi-polar), trauma and loss, and low-self esteem.  She also works with court ordered clients for anger management, drug/alcohol abuse, and general counseling as required by the courts.

   Her accomplishments include being published three times for articles on mood disorders, and starting two successful businesses (besides Counseling Connection), Counseling Center for Women in Rochester and Equine Assisted Counseling (www.equine-assisted-counseling.com ). She has now grown Counseling Connection-Shelby into an innovative counseling center to practice her skills.  Gail also does therapeutic horseback riding with children with ADD/ADHD and Autism.   

    Gail has been married for 37 years and has two grown sons.  Her favorite past-times include, horseback riding, reading, and gardening.  She is also trying to work on her computer skills (with much frustration).  Gail elected to become a counselor, because she enjoys helping people with their many issues and finds the work to be challenging.

    Her philosophy is to help as many people as she can, especially those who cannot really afford counseling or do not want to use their insurance for confidentiality reasons (hence, the sliding fee scale).  Her practice consists primarily of marriage/couples counseling, people who are depressed or suffering from low-self esteem, people who have been traumatized in the past or present and individuals with unique issues.  Confidentiality is preserved at all times.
